It would seem that we can finally put Winter behind us as the weather seems to be (fingers crossed) on the up. 

With a few months of milder weather ahead of us, your doors will be firmly open allowing a warm breeze into your home and hopefully brightening your days! This post will give you a few tips on making the most of them.

Summer is finally appearing across the UK, and we had our first mild day on Sunday. Meaning out came the flip flops, shirtless men and BBQs. With the first glimpse of what could be a glorious summer peeking through, it's time to think about what you want to achieve around your home this year.

This post will give you a few home-improvement planning tips – like any big endeavour, it's not something to rush into all guns blazing. It needs planning, time-scales and a lot of motivation!

I think I might have jinxed us all by calling our last post a 'Spring' update - as it is March, and currently half the country is still covered in a thick layer of the white stuff. So, this week it is going to be strictly business, and we have a lot to share!

Spring is 'Springing' (albeit very slowly) and with it comes a whole host of new ventures and opportunities for Bristol Bifold. 

This post will give you bit of an insight into the new building regulations that are coming into play this year and what they mean for you, and how we are preparing for them!

After reading an evaluation of the door and window industry's year written by a fellow blogger (DGB) it got me thinking about our own evaluation of 2012, and how the year went for Bristol Bifold.

This post will give you a brief overview of how we acclimatise, and continually attract new customers whilst exceeding the expectations already set by previous customers.

I hope everyone's had a wonderful festive break, and that coming back to work wasn't to much of a shock to the system! Now that the excessive eating, drinking and gift giving has pretty much come to a halt, it's all guns blazing at Bristol Bifold.

We've got lots of exciting news to share with you guys over the coming month, and this post is just going to be a quick glimpse at what's to come!

I could spend hours writing about the behind the scenes goings on of our company – how our systems work and our processes that ensure the smoothest possible experience for our customers. But, for your sake... I won't!

What I do want to do though, is just explain a little about the way Bristol Bifold works, and what we have in place that allows us to function like the well oiled machine we are!

I warn you – I'm going to be typically British (and boring..) and talk about the weather a fair bit in this post, but not without justification!

I think the weather conditions that huge parts of the UK are braving at the moment certainly deserve a mention on our blog – bifold door related or not!

October has come and gone and even Bonfire night is a few weeks behind us, there's no more denying it, we are well and truly in the run up to Christmas.

Turkeys are being stuffed, presents are being bought and final plans are being drawn up (not just Christmas dinner seating arrangements..) for building work to be done before the big day.

As Autumn slips into Winter (far too quickly for my liking) more and more of my evenings are being spent in front of the television with a hot drink, meaning I was more than happy to settle down and watch Grand Designs fantastic 100th episode last week – and I'm hoping you all did too!

It really was spectacular. Being a bifold door specialist, I am always interested in the products being used in grand designs – as they are where many of our customers find inspiration. But it's always exciting when a particular focus is placed on the windows and doors of a project.

Of course we are proud of our company as a whole – from our installers to our team in the office, we make sure that everything runs smoothly from quote to installation.

But something else that we pride ourselves on as a company is our diversification and our ability to offer that little bit extra as standard with our products.

Am I the only one who feels like Autumn is hitting especially hard this year? No slowly falling leaves and mild evenings, more like ever present grey clouds and unpleasantly crisp mornings. This may be a direct result of having little to no summer, but still... it would be nice to have a few days where it wasn't necessary to wear a million layers.

This post will be giving you a peak at some of our installations recently, and telling you what we've been up to (a lot!) over the past few weeks and how we're finding the initial stages of the run up to Christmas.

With technology speeding along at a somewhat alarming rate, it would be impractical to be part of an industry that couldn't keep up with these changes.

With the recent release of the iPhone 5, and computer tablets being a much more widely recognised asset to the workplace (especially in sales) it is easy to make the fairly safe prediction that the future of any office is going to see technology being used to improve everyday systems.  The real question for the fenestration industry is how is the market going to adapt and sell products that fit in with this technological advance?

I know what you might be thinking...surely this should have been my very first post? After explaining all the variables, all the benefits and all the reasons to have them installed, why am I now going back to basics and going over what they actually are?

Mainly because whilst they may not be a new product, they are growing immeasurably in popularity and are being installed more and more frequently into extensions and new buildings as an alternative to French doors. However, the only people who seem to know about them are builders/architects/tradespeople, which to us is a big shame. We want YOU the consumer to be as knowledgeable as your architect, so that you can make a considered and informed decision.
